Julian Drinkall, General Manager of the Aga Khan Schools (AKS), visited Texas to meet with high-ranking academic officials from the state. He also met with National Council President, Al-Karim Alidina, and the leadership of the Councils for the Central and Southwestern USA.

In an effort to further ongoing collaborative opportunities between Aga Khan Schools and Universities in Texas under the existing Agreement of Cooperation (AoC), Mr. Drinkall held meetings with Dr. Cynthia Teniente-Matson, President of Texas A&M, San Antonio, and Dr. Lisa Montoya, Vice Provost - Global Initiatives, the University of Texas at San Antonio. The A&M system educates over 150,000 students through a statewide network of 11 universities. The University of Texas at San Antonio serves over 30,000 students.

Mr. Drinkall was joined by Amyn Merchant, also from the Aga Khan Schools, members of the AoC team in Texas, and former Secretary of State of Texas, Rolando Pablos. He also met with members of the National AOC leadership at Plano Jamatkhana. The team discussed progress towards multiple collaborative efforts in California, Illinois, and Texas, with AKS, agreeing on maturing those opportunities under the AKS umbrella.
