Português

May is Heart Month. According to the Portugueses National Health Service, cardiovascular diseases continue to be the leading cause of death in Portugal and Europe. As such, this month is dedicated to raising awareness of the problem of these diseases for the health and quality of life of the population and the prevention of risk factors for them.

In order to develop activities on this theme, the Aga Khan Health Board will be holding a Health Day dedicated to your heart! Join us next Saturday, May 25th, at the Ismaili Center, where we will be joined by partner organizations such as the Hospital da Cruz Vermelha, the Associação Protetora dos Diabéticos de Portugal, the Medina Smile Clinic and the Farmácia Avenida das Forças Armadas for a morning full of activities and free screenings to take care of your health.

What to expect?

● Measurement of blood pressure, weight, height and body mass index;
● Assessment of overall cardiovascular risk and risk of diabetes;
● Foot assessment for diabetic patients;
● Ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology screenings;
● Electrocardiograms;
● Educational activities on oral health and pharmacology

This event is open to all Jamat members and registration will take place in the atrium of the Ismaili Center, Lisbon, on May 17th and 24th, after the religious ceremonies. Please note that places are limited, so we appeal you to secure your place in good time. We also ask all participants to bring their latest blood test and list of usual medication with them on the day of the event.
