According to Shia belief, by declaring Hazrat Ali as Mawla after him, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) transferred his own spiritual authority bestowed upon him by Allah to Hazrat Ali, making him — and all the Imams that follow — the Amirul Mu’minin, or Master of the Believers.

On behalf of the global Ismaili Jamat, a gift was presented to Mawlana Hazar Imam on the joyous occasion of his 65th Imamat Day. The gift, as mentioned by Hazar Imam in his Imamat Day Talika, is an ‘alam, or processional standard, from Safavid Persia, dating to 1651 CE. Learn more about this special gift in this short video.

On the occasion of our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam's 65th Imamat Day, we are pleased to share a special message to Mawlana Hazar Imam from all the Ismaili Council Presidents around the world on behalf of the global Jamat.

The Ismaili Sounds is pleased to present a collage of images of our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam from the time of his ascension to the throne of Imamat until present day. The pictures are set to a specially commissioned soundtrack produced by The Sufistics titled Nostalgia, comprised of Geets from each decade of his Imamat and reminds us of all that he has done for the Ismaili Jamat worldwide.

The Ismaili is pleased to present Shukrana, a devotional collaboration between Ismaili artists from Jamats around the world. The song represents an expression of gratitude for, and celebration of more than 1400 years of continuous Imamat, highlighted by 65 glorious years of leadership by our beloved Mawlana Hazar Imam. Filmed in Toronto and Lisbon, this unique international production is the humble culmination of the time, knowledge, and endeavour of close to 50 vocalists, instrumentalists, writers, composers, producers, visual artists, engineers, and technical team members.

The Ismaili is pleased to present Mubarak Baad, a collaboration of Central Asian artists originating from Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan. The song is a fusion of modern rhythms and traditional live instruments, and rejoices the auspicious arrival of Imamat Day as one blessed with hope, joy, and renewal.

In celebration of Imamat Day, The Ismaili is pleased to present the karaoke version of My Imam, a cheerful and upbeat track, written, composed, and produced by Fez Meghani. Originally released in July 2020, this song helped uplift the global Jamat during the first lockdowns. Featuring musicians and young children from across the globe, this collaboration is a dedication of love and devotion to our Imam-of-the-Time. The song expresses gratitude for the Imam's guidance and blessings.

The Ismaili is pleased to present Euphoria, a song by K4 that reiterates important themes and messages of faith. This track reminds us of the blessing we have to be guided by a present living Imam and emphasizes the power of unity and resilience during times of adversity.

The Ismaili is pleased to present a music video from Syria entitled On your Imamat Day, the universe has blossomed. The song reminds us of the importance of Imamat Day - tracing the tradition of Imamat all the way back to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) and his declaration at Ghadir Kumm. Many of the performers in this piece came together for the Jubilee Arts International Arts Festival in Lisbon four years ago.

The Persian word khudavind or khudawand means, “a king, prince, lord, master; or man of great authority.” Many Persian and Central Asian empires used this term throughout history to refer to people of high standing, including, at times, the sultan (ruler), wazir, government officials, and patrons.

Mawlana Hazar Imam visited the Bamyan Provincial Hospital in Afghanistan in 2005. The hospital has since grown into a 141-bed facility, and has a key focus on the health of children and women in the area.

The Ismaili International Conciliation and Arbitration Board, in collaboration with the IIS, and at the direction of Mawlana Hazar Imam, has produced Guidelines for Ethical Wealth Transfer and Inheritance Planning to assist Ismailis to engage in ethical wealth transfer and inheritance planning.

An Ismaili Imamat delegation led by Prince Rahim is attending the Ocean Conference in Lisbon at the invitation of the United Nations (UN). The conference aims to raise awareness and action around the alarming degradation of the planet’s oceans – which not only provide us with oxygen, food and livelihoods, but act as a giant carbon sink.
