Southeast Jamat assembles 80,000 meals to fight hunger

With the spirit of Thanksgiving, more than 500 Ismaili volunteers, aged eight years and above, gathered at the Atlanta Northeast Jamatkhana to fight hunger and food insecurity in metro-Atlanta. The Ismaili Council for the Southeastern United States, in partnership with the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) and Feeding Children Everywhere, organized the 60 for 60: I-CERV Day of Service, with the goal of preparing 60,000 meals in commemoration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee.
Rays of Light Exhibition’s Global Launch in Chicago

This Diamond Jubilee, Rays of Light is once again traversing the globe, having been updated to include the numerous achievements Mawlana Hazar Imam has accomplished over the decade since the inauguration of the exhibit. Over 250 photographs are displayed, from Mawlana Hazar Imam’s childhood to the current period, and illustrate the impact he has made on communities around the world.
Diamond Jubilee Volunteer Registration Launches in USA

In commemoration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 60 years of Imamat, the National Council for the United States of America is pleased to announce that Diamond Jubilee Volunteer Registration for all uniform and non-uniform volunteers has officially launched.
Interested members can register online or in person at Jamatkhana, where registration volunteers will be available for assistance.

Rays of Light returns to USA

Rays of Light: Glimpses into the Ismaili Imamat was inaugurated in Paris by Mawlana Hazar Imam, along with members of the Noorani family, during his Golden Jubilee. It is returning as a Diamond Jubilee International Program, with the first USA exhibition planned for Chicago on November 2, 2017.

There truly is a first time for everything. September of 2017 brought two new experiences for me: our city being targeted by the eye of a hurricane, and spending the two days following the hurricane volunteering at the City of Orlando Emergency Center.
Home Away From Home – One Jamat Across the World

In August and September, the global Jamat explored the first theme of the Diamond Jubilee year: “Celebrating the Grace of Jamatkhanas and Ismaili Centres in our Lives.” We have focused, through various initiatives and programs, on the meaning and importance of Jamatkhanas to each of us, and the diverse ways in which we engage with and use our Jamatkhanas. This article highlights the role of Jamatkhana for one US family. As we engage with other Diamond Jubilee themes through the course of this year, we will continue to highlight experiences of the Jamat with those themes.
