NATIONAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • According to the World Health Organization, Dementia is the seventh leading cause of death worldwide and a significant cause of disability among older adults. Join the Jamati Institutions for a 3-part Zoom series on Dementia Awareness beginning September 12. Gain valuable insights into early detection, treatment options, and caregiver resources.

  • Aga Khan Economic Planning Board invites you to The Franchise Showcase to be held on September 15 at Northeast Jamatkhana at 11:00 a.m.

  • Camp Khidma is a residential leadership development experience for all US 9-10th grade current/future uniform volunteers. Camp One will be in Atlanta, Georgia from November 23 -27 and Camp Two will be in Austin, Texas from December 26 - 30. The deadline to apply for participants and mentors is September 30!

  • Skills Development Initiative, brings unique opportunities for the Jamat for income enhancement through Various educational tracks. Enrollment is currently open for Accounting 101; Quick-books and Cosmetology classes. Spots are limited. Please register.

  • The Institute of Ismaili Studies is inviting applications for its Secondary Teacher Education Program (STEP).  If you are passionate about teaching secondary students, you could be an ideal candidate. Application deadline is October 21.

  • With the cold season and rising COVID cases, we urge eligible Jamati members to get the updated COVID-19, flu, and RSV vaccines. The CDC and Aga Khan Health Board also recommend staying home if experiencing symptoms and practicing frequent hand hygiene.

  • Council for USA is seeking a Facilities Manager to join the Ismaili Center Houston team as we prepare to open our doors in Fall 2025. As the first Facilities Manager in the history of the Ismaili Center Houston, you will leverage your operational skills and establish systems as you manage this unique facility that sits on an 11-acre site along the Buffalo Bayou. The Ismaili Center facility includes premier outdoor and indoor event space, a cafe that is open to the public, educational spaces that will host year-round programming, and a theater. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the effective functionality of the Center.
