We are delighted to announce the first of our international exhibitions of work inspired by Lisbon which opened on Saturday June 8th at the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, where renowned artists Barry Goodman and Will Talenti converge to present a captivating, collaborative exhibition of art reflecting the theme of ‘Transformation’.

From the, Azzelij, (‘little polished stone’), of the Moors through the Azulejos that adorned the new buildings of the city devastated by the 1775 earthquake to their modern, 21st century reconceptualization, this exhibition reflects ways in which Lisboa has captivated and inspired artists. The Ismaili Centre, Lisbon, is a setting where art and tradition intertwine and so is perfect to showcase Goodman and Talenti’s collections as they infuse the traditional art of azulejos with a contemporary reinterpretation that speaks to the essence of a metamorphosis. They surprise and inspire visitors by the transformation of the drab and ignored yet immerse them in a contemplative dreamscape that deepens their understanding of the changing nature of Lisbon’s urban landscape; a remembrance of forgotten aspects of a city and knew possibilities.

Goodman and Talenti’s artistry not only celebrates the inherent beauty of change but also challenges viewers to embrace the fluidity of Lisbon’s journey.

Their second annual international exhibition of work inspired by Lisbon will be held in Florida, USA, at the ‘Factory on Fifth’, Tampa.
