Ramadan is an important time in the Muslim Calendar. It marks the month during which the first verses of the Holy Quran were revealed to our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) during his retreat at Mount Hira.
Throughout history, Muslim communities have celebrated Ramadan as a blessed month and a period of additional prayer and reflection, taking the time to renew and reinforce their relationship with Allah.
The activities in the Ramadan Calendar 2021 encourage children, supported by their families, to build resilience through habits of faith: gratitude, compassion, inspiration, reflection, and commitment. Altogether, these habits can heighten our awareness of the Grace and Presence of Allah in our lives, motivate us to work towards our personal goals of success and fulfilment and help us to become strong, resilient murids of the Imam-of-the-Time.
We hope that families will engage with the calendar and spend some time carrying out the activities together. Access here.
