Portuguese

Another one of our open-air treasures in Lisbon!

Upon entering the Gulbenkian gardens, you leave all the hustle and bustle of the city behind and, around you, you only see trees, streams, birds, and plenty of space to relax, unwind and refresh.

Add to that three weekends with concerts and DJ sets, curated by the brilliant Dino D'Santiago, and an open-air cinema cycle curated by Olivie Hadouchi, and you have the perfect recipe for a beautiful weekend. Or three!

From 24th to 26th of June, 1st to 3rd and 8th to 10th of July, you will be able to explore the Gulbenkian gardens accompanied by creole sounds playing on three different stages, or you can choose to attend a movie session, whose theme focuses on African independence.

“A Summer Garden full of sounds that, as promised by Dino D'Santiago, “bring the rhythmic memories of Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Central African Republic and Gambia, marrying global electronics "; “sounds that travel from Traditional to Vanguard and transform Lisbon into one of the most Creole capitals in Europe.” A showcase of Afro-European culture that accompanies the Europa Oxalá exhibition and proposes a deeper reflection on heritages, memories and identity explored by artists born and raised in a post-colonial context.” (in gulbenkian.pt)
