The Ismailis Studies Institute Short Course on Religious Symbolism in Art and Architecture will take place in Lisbon from 9-13 September.
This course will last for 5 days and will seek to explore the role of religious symbols and symbolism within the art and architecture of diverse religious communities, with particular reference to symbolism in Muslim contexts. Participants will have the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills to examine different symbolic forms in material culture through lectures with leading academics, group discussions, museum visits and other educational meetings.
