This week, our suggestions for art and culture are all over the country, from north to south. Come, we'll tell you everything!

Português

We start in the North, with what is already considered an institution in the our nation’s birthplace – Guimarães Jazz.
With 30 years of presence in the city, the philosophy of this festival always seeks to reveal “the optimism and hope that the spirit of jazz intends to propagate”. The impact it has had on the community is visible at all levels, and this is always a long-awaited moment in the city.

This year's edition features several big names in the jazz world - Dianne Reeves, Archie Shepp, Benjamin Koppel, A nders Koppel, Martin Andersen, Hamid Drake, Manuel de Oliveira, Jorge Pardo, Carles Benavent & Orquestra de Guimarães, David Murray, Victor Garcia, Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos & Ethan Iverson and David Virelles, among others.

Do not miss this opportunity! From the 10th to the 19th of November. You can find the entire festival program at: https://www.e-cultura.pt/artigo/30506

In Lisbon the focus is on cinema.
From the 14th to the 20th of November we will have Olhares do Mediterráneo – Women's Film Festival, now in its 9th edition, which will take place with a wide range of programs, between Cinema S. Jorge and Cinemateca Portuguesa.
Feature films, shorts, workshops, masterclasses and concerts are part of this edition’s schedule, with the aim of “offering a sample of one of the richest cinematographies in Arabic-speaking countries and honoring the artistic and cultural community of a country that represents an amplified symbol of the Mediterranean universe, for being a concentrate of culture, vitality and diversity, but also of continuous and dramatic conflicts.” (in https://www.e-cultura.pt)

Olhares do Mediterráneo - Women Film Festival is the first women's film festival in Portugal, and the only one dedicated to the cinematography of the Mediterranean basin!

We end this edition in the Algarve, more precisely in Loulé, which dedicates much of its programmatic grid this month to the celebration of José Saramago's 100th birthday, among many other things!
On the 16th, 17th and 18th of November, the play based on the children's book by José Saramago is presented to schools. And on the 18th, “A Maior Flor do Mundo” is for the general public, at 9 pm, at Cineteatro Louletano, to demonstrate that this show is not just for children.

On the 21st of November, Cineteatro Louletano celebrates the centenary of the birth of José Saramago with a classical music concert, through the Algarve Music Series. Monologue for actress and string quintet: homage to José Saramago is inspired by the work “As Intermitências da Morte” and starts from a disturbing premise: what if, in any country, people stopped dying? (in www.e-cultura.pt/)

Loulé has a very rich artistic program and you cannot miss the opportunity to enjoy these initiatives. You can find the schedule for the entire month of November at: https://www.e-cultura.pt/evento/28546

Enjoy!
