Salads aren't necessarily low in fat and calories, as some have creamy or oily dressings. This kachumber uses low fat yogurt instead. If you want to add more flavour, choose salt-free condiments like cracked black pepper or chopped green chillies.

  • 100 g (3.5 oz) natural yoghurt

  • 2 onions, peeled

  • 2 tomatoes

  • 1 cucumber

  • 5-6 coriander sprigs, washed and chopped

Directions

1. In a large bowl, whisk the yoghurt until it has a smooth texture.

2. Chop the onion, tomato and cucumber into medium sized pieces, and add to the yoghurt.

3. Gently mix to ensure that the yoghurt covers all the pieces.

4. Garnish with the coriander.

Serving Suggestion: Dahi Kachumber is best served chilled and goes well as an accompaniment to pilau and biryani dishes.
