Video: Millennial anniversary of Firdawsi’s “Shahnama” marked at UT Arlington

On 4 November 2010, Dr Francesca Leoni delivered a presentation to mark the millennial anniversary of Firdawsi’s Shahnama. The presentation took place at the University of Texas at Arlington, with support from its Office of the Provost, the University’s College of Liberal Arts, and the Ismaili Council for Northern Texas.

Dr Leoni is the Assistant Curator of the Arts of the Islamic World at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, and spoke on the artistic afterlife of the Shahnama and how the poem has remained so revered and influential over the last thousand years. She had previously delivered a presentation on the Shahnama at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston in February 2010.
