SPEAK is a global organization, present in more than 12 countries all around the world, including Portugal, where it is present in more than 12 cities, from Amarante, through Lisbon, Almada, Coimbra, Leiria, Castelo Branco and others. Its mission is much more than teaching languages: one of its main goals is to connect people and contribute to the existence of more inclusive cities where we all feel at home and where diversity is celebrated.
Thus, SPEAK brings together both Portuguese and newcomers to live in the same city through language groups and cultural exchange events organized by the community. In just 12 sessions, SPEAK seeks to break the barrier of isolation, as integrating into a new city can be difficult for newcomers: one of the challenges that SPEAK seeks to address. In fact, in just 12 sessions, more than 72% of participants meet new people and 82% feel more at home, in addition to, of course, learning and improving their knowledge in the language they intend to learn.
This is how, with the SPEAK community, it is possible to learn or practice a new language, and at the same time, share cultures and languages with others!
There are more than 189 countries represented and 50 languages shared at different events and classes throughout the year. In January, SPEAK Almada, returns with language sessions, in online format, starting next January 18th, for all those interested in learning basic Portuguese and English at levels II and III. In other schools in the country, more languages and different levels are also available.
At SPEAK, they believe that the best way to learn a language is to speak it and so the classes integrate conversations and expressions from day to day and everyday life. Learning at SPEAK is never boring, sessions are full of games and group activities, and time flies.
