Kabul, 29 September 2014 — Mawlana Hazar Imam was in the capital of Afghanistan to witness the inauguration of the new president, Dr Muhammad Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai, and the swearing in of the Chief Executive, Dr Abdullah Abdullah. Dignitaries from around the world attended the event, which marked a new era of National Unity Government in Afghanistan.

During the one day visit, Mawlana Hazar Imam met with President Ahmadzai and Dr Abdullah. He reaffirmed his commitment of support to the National Unity Government and for the country’s progress towards peace, stability, social and economic development. Hazar Imam also met with Afghanistan’s outgoing president, Hamid Karzai, acknowledging his leadership and support for the work of the Imamat and Jamati institutions in Afghanistan.
