Toronto, 12 September 2014 — This afternoon, following the ceremonial opening of the Ismaili Centre, Toronto, Mawlana Hazar Imam and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper presided over the opening of the Aga Khan Museum.
Prince Amyn Aga Khan, Vice Chairman of the Aga Khan Museum Board of Directors, and the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages addressed the audience in the auditorium of the museum. After their remarks, Mawlana Hazar Imam and Prime Minister Harper unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the occasion.
Following the ceremony, the delegates toured the museum, including the Bellerive Room and the permanent collection, before returning to the Ismaili Centre.
