On March 26, 2017, the Aga Khan Council for Western United States was presented with the Trailblazer Award by NewGround: A Muslim-Jewish Partnership for Change.

The under-18 performance, composed of Ismaili youth ages 3 to 18, is centered around putting the youngest Jamati members front and center during the momentous celebration of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee.

Gouvieux, France, 12 July 2017 — Yesterday, Ismaili Muslims all over the world symbolically crossed the threshold of Aiglemont and joined in procession with hundreds of senior Jamati leaders, as they called on the residence of the Imam of the Time to offer homage on the occasion of his Diamond Jubilee.

The Canadian Games concluded on Sunday, 2 August 2015 with a closing ceremony held at Calgary’s BMO Centre and Stampede Corral.

The swim meet at the Canadian Ismaili Games turned out to be quite the family affair as siblings, parents and their children and even some spouses raced with and against each other.

Around the world there are approximately 15 million Ismaili Muslims, who belong to the Shia branch of Islam. Their spiritual leader is the Aga Khan, who traces his ancestors directly back to the Prophet Muhammad. We spoke with him in Toronto.

Lisbon, 3 June 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam and Portugal’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Rui Machete signed a landmark agreement today, for the establishment of a formal Seat of the Ismaili Imamat in Portugal.

Toronto, 25 May 2015 — Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne inaugurated the Aga Khan Park this afternoon in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam. The ceremony followed the signing of a historic Agreement of Cooperation between the Ismaili Imamat and the province earlier in the day.

The Aga Khan Park was inaugurated by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam on 25 May 2015. Situated along Wynford Drive, the Park provides a beautifully landscaped contemplative public space that encompasses the Ismaili Centre, Toronto and the Aga Khan Museum.

Cairo, 2 May 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam was in Egypt to attend an event marking the restoration of the 14th century Aqsunqur Mosque. Work on Cairo’s “Blue Mosque” was completed by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture as part of its Al-Darb al-Ahmar Urban Regeneration Programme.

Members of the British Parliament invited the Ismaili Muslim community to mark the festival of Navroz at the Houses of Parliament last month. The fourth annual Navroz reception took place on 17 March in the Terrace Pavilion at the House of Commons.

On 10 April, Mawlana Hazar Imam was accompanied by Prince Aly Muhammad, Princess Zahra and her children, Sara and Iliyan on a visit to the Aga Khan Academy, Hyderabad. Hazar Imam and his family members met teachers, staff and students as they toured the Junior and Senior schools, the athletics centre and the student residences.

6 April 2015 — Exhaustion from three days of intense sports competition couldn’t stop Unity Games participants from dancing until the early hours of Monday morning. Attendees of the closing ceremonies enjoyed many performances as well as each others’ company before returning to their homes.
