Edmonton, 7 April 2017 — Details of an Islamic garden gifted by Mawlana Hazar Imam to the University of Alberta were revealed today at a special ceremony. The event also included the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the University of Alberta and the Aga Khan University.

Representing the entire Ismaili community in all of its diversity, Jamati and institutional leaders visited the Imam at his home on this milestone occasion to offer congratulations, express shukrana, and to reaffirm the Jamat’s bayyah to the Imam of the Time.
On 16 December 2016, Mawlana Hazar Imam’s 80th birthday was celebrated at Aiglemont by Jamati and institutional leaders, who represented the worldwide Ismaili community, and by members of Hazar Imam’s family. Mawlana Hazar Imam expressed his great happiness at the occasion.
