In most countries, Children’s day is observed in the 1st of June. A day to be remembered! A day filled with laughter, happiness and joy. Not only that but also, a day where every youngster can express their childlike desire and be treasured for it. However, why is it that we commemorate children’s day?
According to Wikipedia, the date of this commemoration varies – however its’ reasons remains the same. This day is used to honour and respect children who have reached and are going to go reach their milestones. These dates are necessary in order to raise awareness and support of children’s welfare across the globe.
Similarly, the United Nations (UN) states, and I quote, “Children’s day is an event that promotes-; “international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare” that varies among country to country”.
Furthermore;Unicef, the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, outlines that World Children’s Day is a “time to celebrate and a time to demand action.” “Kids are taking a stand around the world to say: it is time for every child, to have every right,” the organization states.
It is all about the importance of a healthy childhood, a book of amazing memories and a bag of smiles. Make this day your day, and make this day a memory to cherished throughout your life.
