Live Event: Alnoor Merchant to discuss Aga Khan Museum collection and Muslim patronage of the arts

Alnoor Merchant, from The Institute of Ismaili Studies, will be visiting several centres in the USA, to talk about the origins of historic artefacts in the Aga Khan Museum collection, and the role of patrons in the history of Islamic Art. Alnoor Merchant, Head Librarian and Keeper of the Ismaili collections at The Institute of Ismaili Studies in London, will be visiting several centres in the United States, to talk about the origins of historic artefacts in the Aga Khan Museum collection. He will also discuss the important role that patrons played in the history of Islamic Art.

In February 2009, Merchant delivered a similar set of talks in San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles, California and Houston, Texas. This year's lecture series will take him to Arlington, Dallas and Austin in Texas, as well as Chicago, Illinois.
