Alnoor Merchant, Head Librarian and Keeper of the Ismaili collections at The Institute of Ismaili Studies in London, will be visiting several centres in the United States, to talk about the origins of historic artefacts in the Aga Khan Museum collection. He will also discuss the important role that patrons played in the history of Islamic Art.
In February 2009, Merchant delivered a similar set of talks in San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles, California and Houston, Texas. This year's lecture series will take him to Arlington, Dallas and Austin in Texas, as well as Chicago, Illinois.
A video of Merchant's presentation to be held at the University of Texas at Arlington on 15 February 2010 will be made available at TheIsmaili.org/live later this week.
