Global Encounters is partnering with multiple AKDN institutions to offer both virtual and in-person internships in a range of areas. We have in-person oppportunities in East Africa, Kyrgystan, India, Pakistan and Tajikistan as well as other global in-person and virtual opportunities.
The Global Encounters (GE) Internship Programme – inaugurated in 2019 – aims to assist university students and young professionals to have profound and life-changing internship experiences. Our focus is to help youth in the Ismaili community broaden their horizons, build career and life skills, and contribute meaningfully to the development sector, community, and partners they work with through relevant local and global work.
The first cycle of Heritage Journeys will take place in Summer 2023. Check back for applications in Spring 2023!

This story is of 24-year-old Waseem Sajad, a resident of Chipurson Valley in Upper Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan. Consisting of 11 villages, Chipurson Valley has great strategic importance considering its borders with Pamirs leading to Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
