The Ismaili digital team requires a number of talented, competent, and eloquent copy editors to assist with creating, revising, and editing written content for the web, helping to maintain our high standards of publishing and consistency of voice. This is an ideal opportunity to implement best practice, and contribute to the continued innovation and growth of The Ismaili. This role requires a time commitment of 3-4 hours per week.

Job Description

  • - Proofread and fact-check written text, and ensure correct grammar, style, and tone
  • - Rearrange, cut, and expand upon text to improve flow and reach ideal word count
  • - Work with writers and editors to provide feedback and enhance content
  • - Write headlines, summaries/ standfirsts, and image captions to augment articles

Skills & Qualifications

  • - University degree, preferably in a humanities or social sciences discipline
  • - One or more years of experience in digital content creation and/or editing
  • - An eye for detail, ability to identify sensitivities, inconsistencies, contradictions
  • - Ability to write with articulation and eloquence, yet in a clear and accessible manner
  • - Respond to requests in a timely fashion
  • - Excellent English language fluency
  • - Experience working with Jamati institutions and/or remote international teams
