Assistant Editor (The Ismaili Website)

The Ismaili digital team is looking for two assistant editors to help perform the day-to-day duties of The Ismaili digital platform, such as writing and editing, maintaining and updating the website, troubleshooting problems, training, and supporting team members. A time commitment of approximately 10 hours per week is required.

Job Description

  • - Working with writers, editors, photographers, and graphic designers to create high quality digital content
  • - Proofread and fact-check written text, ensure correct grammar, style, and tone
  • - Supporting country and institutional teams to maintain their online environments according to our principles and guidelines
  • - Publishing articles on the website and social media
  • - Curating, preparing, and sending newsletters
  • - User acceptance testing
  • - Training others on writing, editing, and using the content management system
  • - Additional duties as required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • - University degree, preferably in a humanities or social sciences discipline
  • - One or more years of experience with digital communications
  • - Project management experience, with the proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask, and problem solve.
  • - Respond to requests in a timely fashion
