On the third day of his Diamond Jubilee visit to the United Arab Emirates, Mawlana Hazar Imam travelled to Abu Dhabi where he met with His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Dubai on the evening of 22nd of January, 2018 on an official visit at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, received Mawlana Hazar Imam at the Zabeel Palace on the occasion of his Diamond Jubilee visit to the United Arab Emirates.

“When I was younger, people didn’t know how to read,” recalled Musa Khan. “If we received a letter, we had to travel far to find someone who could read it for us. Today, every child in the area is enrolled in school.” The educational progress covered in Musa Khan’s lifetime is that of centuries. Musa is one of many teachers who have dedicated their lives to educating children in their communities in the Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral regions of Pakistan.

On 11 December, 2017, during Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee visit to Pakistan, the Ismaili Council for Pakistan hosted a dinner in honour of the Board of Trustees of the Aga Khan University. The dinner was attended by Princess Zahra along with other trustees and leaders of the Aga Khan Development Network and Jamati institutions.
During his Diamond Jubilee visit to Pakistan, Mawlana Hazar Imam met with the Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, who also hosted a reception in honour of Hazar Imam on 16 December. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman, along with other key government officials, and AKDN and Jamati leadership were also present.
