The Secondary Teacher Education Programme is a two year programme for those wishing to embark on a career in teaching within the wider Aga Khan network of institutions, with a particular focus on teaching the Institute of Ismaili Studies’ Secondary Curriculum at the Ismaili Religious Education Centres (RECs) to students aged 12-17, known as Mosaic classes within our jurisdiction.
STEP develops skills and shapes candidates into teachers and mentors who can inspire and teach. The Master’s level teacher preparation aspect of STEP is being undertaken through a pioneering collaboration between the UCL Institute of Education, SOAS University of London and the Institute of Ismaili Studies.
