With the objective of English literacy for all women in Thane council jurisdiction, a small batch of twenty women were selected to impart lessons in English with two trainers, as a pilot project.

The objective was to impart basic speaking and comprehension skills in English language. The faculty Shamsha Farookali Dhamani and Munira Zaheer Nanpariya prepared a comprehensive and customised brief curriculum with the aim to achieve the above objective. The classes were conducted over a period of three months ( Feb 2018- April 2018). The lessons were imparted using modern methodologies and technology. Regular home assignments were given to the participants. The participants also prepared a scrap book as a part of the course work. It was a joyful and enriching experience for both the participants and faculties. The pilot project has helped to understand the need of different participants. Accordingly the curriculum can be modified to suit the needs of different learners. With more human resource and enthusiastic learners the course can be replicated other Jamati members too.
