The family unit nurtures the lives of its members, assisting them in their physical and spiritual endeavours. Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Houston yesterday for the second stop of his Diamond Jubilee visit to the United States. Upon his arrival, Hazar Imam was welcomed with a sabre salute by the Texas A&M Ross Volunteers, the State of Texas’ official honor guard.
A reception was hosted by the Aga Khan Development Network at the Polana Serena Hotel in Maputo, to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee year of Mawlana Hazar Imam.

On 10 November, the FOCUS team visited Queen Elizabeth School in Lisbon, where they led a ShakeOut earthquake drill.
Over the weekend of 11–12 October, the Ismaili Centre, Lisbon took part in Lisboa Open House, an annual event to raise awareness about spaces of architectural and cultural value. Visitors learnt about the relationship between the architecture of the building and the history and values of a Muslim community that has been in Portugal for decades.
