In the past, when an individual was diagnosed with cancer or heart disease, the options for treatment in East Africa were limited. But as the footprint of the Aga Khan University has expanded, new facilities and trained health specialists are making quality care accessible in the region.

The Aga Khan Health Board for the United Kingdom held a National Recipe Competition in that was launched at the National Sports Festival in May 2010. In October, the winners were announced on The Ismaili Nutrition Centre. Feizin Amlani spoke with the winners about what distinguishes their cooking styles and motivates them in the kitchen.

Earlier this year, the Aga Khan Heath Board for the United Kingdom launched their first National Recipe Competition. The competition provided a chance for cooking connoisseurs of all ages to share their culinary creations.
