Mawlana Hazar Imam shares a light moment with the Jamat

In a moment that was uniquely historic for the entire Jamat, Mawlana Hazar Imam granted a Diamond Jubilee Darbar in Nairobi, Kenya on the very same grounds where the Imam had been installed during his Takht Nashini in 1957 when he acceded to the Imamat. This was also the same site where Mawlana Hazar Imam celebrated both his Silver and Golden Jubilees.

Across India this 15 August, Ismailis celebrated their nation’s independence through acts that contributed to the wellbeing of society. Members of the Jamat planted trees, cleaned up local monuments and put on street plays to educate about traffic safety.
