In promoting the sanctity of human life, the Qur'an-e Shariff says that good health, like knowledge, is a divine gift. The family unit nurtures the lives of its members, assisting them in their physical and spiritual endeavours. The wellbeing of individuals, in-turn, contributes to the overall health of the family, and that of society at large.
The Institute of Ismaili Studies is holding a book launch for Arabic, Persian and Gujarati Manuscripts: The Hamdani Collection at 8:15 PM (BST) on Tuesday, 18 October 2011. The event will feature Professor Abbas Hamdani and Dr François de Blois.
As part of a tour of several US centres, Alnoor Merchant from The Institute of Ismaili Studies spoke at the University of Texas in Arlington about the origins of historic artefacts in the Aga Khan Museum collection, and the role of patrons in the history of Islamic Art.

Hazar Imam also met with senior UK government leaders, including the Prime Minister, as well as senior Jamati and institutional leaders, and granted a Golden Jubilee Darbar at the ExCeL centre.
