Mawlana Hazar Imam shares a light moment with Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

On a crisp autumnal morning in London’s King’s Cross, Mawlana Hazar Imam welcomed Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to the Aga Khan Centre, for a special event to celebrate the culture and heritage of Pakistan, and the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora to British society.

Prince Hussain, second son of Mawlana Hazar Imam, married Ms Elizabeth Hoag in a private ceremony on 29 September 2019, in Geneva, Switzerland. Attended by immediate family members, the proceedings took place in accordance with Muslim tradition.

On Saturday 14 September, Mawlana Hazar Imam participated in an Aga Khan Award for Architecture Winners’ Seminar at the Main International Centre, Universidade Village, Kazan. Hazar Imam was joined by members of his family, and leaders of the Jamat and AKDN.

In a captivating occasion in Kazan on 13 September 2019, Mawlana Hazar Imam presided over the prize-giving ceremony of 14th cycle of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. In his speech, Hazar Imam described several ways in which architecture can blend differing perspectives, and reiterated its potential to inspire and enrich creative dialogue.
