Mawlana Hazar Imam and Canadian Governor General David Johnston unveil a plaque marking the opening of the international headquarters of the Global Centre for Pluralism in Ottawa.

Ottawa, 16 May 2017 — Mawlana Hazar Imam and His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada officially opened the new international headquarters of the Global Centre for Pluralism today.

Canada’s Governor General opened a two-day conference at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa that aims to raise the profile of higher education on the global development agenda. Attendees from more than 20 countries and a dozen universities gathered to discuss how tertiary education can improve quality of life.

Ottawa, 11 February 2016 — United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was the guest of honour at a private luncheon at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat today. The event underscored the importance of accommodating and valuing diversity around the world.

Ottawa, 5 November 2015 — Canada's newly sworn-in Prime Minister, the Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, visited the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat on Tuesday evening where he met with the President of the Ismaili Council for Canada and the AKDN Resident Representative in Canada.
