Ismaili Muslims from Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea are gathering in Sydney for the 2016 ANZ Ismaili Sports Tournament III (IST). Taking place between between 24 – 27 March, the sports event serves as a qualifier for the 2016 Jubilee Games in Dubai.

Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt, 21 February 2016 — A new spirit of African confidence is drawing the continent together, allowing it to move forward with impressive progress, said Mawlana Hazar Imam today. He was speaking at the Africa 2016 Forum, which brought together African heads of state, government and business leaders to advance opportunities in regional investment and trade.

10 January 2016 — National Ismaili Councils worldwide announced today that the 2016 Jubilee Games will be held between 22 – 29 July in Dubai.

The 2015 Gulf Games included competition in badminton, basketball, cricket, football, squash, swimming, table tennis, tennis, throwball, as well as international and traditional volleyball. Ismaili Council for the UAE

As the year drew to a close, Ismaili Muslim athletes from across the Gulf region came together in Dubai to take part in the 2015 Gulf Games. The event was a qualifier for the Jubilee Games — also set to take place in Dubai later this year.
