Mawlana Hazar Imam and Princess Zahra are welcomed to Ottawa by Ameerally Kassim-Lakha, President of the Ismaili Council for Canada, on behalf of the Canadian Jamat.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Canada today, accompanied by Princess Zahra, in advance of a ceremony to recognise the recipients of the 2019 Global Pluralism Award.

Mawlana Hazar Imam presided over the Global Pluralism Award ceremony on Wednesday 20 November, a biennial event hosted by the Global Centre for Pluralism. The Award recognises the extraordinary achievements of organisations, individuals, and governments around the world who exemplify living peacefully and productively with diversity.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Montreal on Monday evening for the last portion of his visit to Eastern Canada. He was greeted by Jamati leadership from Montreal and Ottawa upon his arrival.

Mawlana Hazar Imam departed Ottawa, and travelled to Toronto to meet with the Jamat there.

Mawlana Hazar Imam is received by AKDN Resident Representative for Canada Dr Mahmoud Eboo, President Malik Talib and Vice-President Karima Karmali of the Ismaili Council for Canada upon his arrival in Ottawa.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Ottawa earlier this evening, commencing a visit to Canada that will include attending the Global Pluralism Award ceremony as well as meeting with the Jamat of Eastern Canada.
