As part of his Diamond Jubilee visit to India, Mawlana Hazar Imam presided over the inauguration of Sunder Nursery on 21 February in Delhi, along with the guest of honour, the Vice-President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu.

During his visit to India earlier this month, Mawlana Hazar Imam and his family visited the Qutb Shahi Heritage Park, where conservation work is being carried out by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture. Days earlier, Hazar Imam and and his family had toured Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi.

Delhi, 7 April 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam and Dr Mahesh Sharma, India’s Minister of Tourism and Culture, presided over the foundation ceremony of a site museum to be situated at the Humayun’s Tomb complex.

Forces of modernity are preventing a meaningful response to the environmental crisis in favor of economic interests, says Dr Seyyed Hossein Nasr. The renowned intellectual and pioneering environmental philosopher was delivering the inaugural Ismaili Centre International Lecture in Burnaby, Canada.

In September 2013, Mawlana Hazar Imam travelled to India to mark the completion of the restoration of Humayun’s Tomb, inaugurate the Aga Khan Academy in Hyderabad, meet with various AKDN institutions, and meet with the Jamat of Western India.
