New Delhi, 8 April 2015 — In a ceremony held today at the at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the President of India, His Excellency Pranab Mukherjee bestowed upon Mawlana Hazar Imam the Padma Vibhushan, one of India’s highest civilian decorations.

New Delhi, 7 April 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam called on the President, Vice President and Prime Minister of India today, visiting them at their respective official residences.

New Delhi, 6 April 2015 — Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in India today for a week-long visit during which he will receive the Padma Vibhushan. Hazar Imam is also expected to lay the foundation stone for a site museum and visitor’s centre for Humayun’s Tomb.

On 1 November 2011, Mawlana Hazar Imam and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, inaugurated the Dushanbe Serena Hotel in the heart of the Tajik capital. Prince Amyn and Prince Rahim were also present for the ceremony.
