As Ismailis around the world prepare for the Jubilee Games in Dubai, the Jamat of the Far East came together in November to participate in their own sports tournament, which served as a regional qualifier for the international Games.

During a two-day visit to Bangladesh commencing 16 September 2013, Mawlana Hazar Imam held talks with senior government leaders and signed a protocol agreement between AKDN and the Government of Bangladesh. Hazar Imam also paid tribute to freedom fighters at the National Memorial for Martyrs in Savar and the Bangabadhu Memorial Museum.

At a banquet in San Francisco on 26 April, Mawlana Hazar Imam was presented with the 2011 University of California San Francisco Medal. The prestigious recognition builds on existing collaborations between the UCSF and AKDN, and particularly the University’s support for training and research programmes at the Aga Khan University.

On 11 July 2010, the Ismaili Centre, Dushanbe was the venue for an Imamat Day reception hosted by the Aga Khan Development Network in Tajikistan. The event included a cultural show as well as a three-day exhibition of AKDN’s projects in the country during the past 15 years.
