Minister Hunter from the Government of Ontario and Amyn Merchant from the Aga Khan Academies renewed the partnership on mutually beneficial education initiatives.

On 29 April 2018, the Province of Ontario and the Aga Khan Academies network of schools formally extended their partnership on mutually beneficial education projects, as part of the renewal of initiatives under an agreement between the Province and the Ismaili Imamat.

Toronto, 22 June 2017- Members of the Implementation Sub-Committee, as part of the Agreement of Cooperation between the Ismaili Imamat and the Government of Ontario, met at the Ismaili Centre, Toronto to discuss progress on various aspects of the Agreement. This was followed by an Iftar dinner hosted by the Ismaili Council for Ontario.

The first ever all-Africa Unity Games commenced with energy, excitement and fanfare at Mombasa’s Aga Khan Academy. The Kenyan and Ismaili flags, along with the Aga Khan Band Mombasa, led a procession of athletes representing 11 teams.

Mombasa, 13 April 2017 — Every two years, the Ismaili communities of East Africa come together for the Unity Games, a festival of sport. This year, the Games will include Jamats from all over the entire African continent.

The 2017 Unity Games has brought Jamats from all over the African continent together in Mombasa. Between 13 – 16 April, more than 700 Ismaili athletes will compete in 19 sports, and will be cheered on by hundreds of fans.
