The First Aga Khan: Memoirs of the 46th Ismaili Imam was recently launched by the Institute of Ismaili Studies. Part of the Ismaili Texts and Translations Series, the book was published in honour of Mawlana Hazar Imam’s Diamond Jubilee. It is the first English translation of the original Persian manuscript, ‘Ibrat-afza, which was composed by Imam Hasan Ali Shah in 1850. 

The new IIS publication sheds light on the remarkable life and career of the 46th Ismaili Imam - Mawlana Hasan Ali Shah.

On a spring evening last month in London, The Institute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) launched their newest publication, entitled The First Aga Khan: Memoirs of the 46th Ismaili Imam. The book covers a significant period of Ismaili history and sheds light on the remarkable life and career of the 46th Ismaili Imam - Mawlana Hasan Ali Shah.

In an historic joint ceremony in Vancouver, the University of British Columbia (UBC) and Simon Fraser University (SFU) each conferred Mawlana Hazar Imam with an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in recognition of his lifelong service to humanity.

On 19 October, Mawlana Hazar Imam was conferred with honorary Doctor of Laws degrees from the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University at a joint ceremony, the first of its kind.

Upon his arrival in Vancouver, Mawlana Hazar Imam is greeted by Samir Manji, President of the Ismaili Council for British Columbia, and Zulie Sachedina, Chair of the International Conciliation and Arbitration Board.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Vancouver today, accompanied by Prince Aly Muhammad, for the final leg of his visit to Canada. President of the Ismaili Council for British Columbia Samir Manji and Zulie Sachedina, Chair, International Conciliation and Arbitration Board (ICAB) greeted Hazar Imam and Prince Aly upon their arrival.
