London, 3 March 2016 — International Women’s Day was marked at the Ismaili Centre, London with a discussion on Women and the future of Afghanistan featuring Nurjehan Mawani, Shireen Rahmani and Meena Baktash.

At a banquet in San Francisco on 26 April, Mawlana Hazar Imam was presented with the 2011 University of California San Francisco Medal. The prestigious recognition builds on existing collaborations between the UCSF and AKDN, and particularly the University’s support for training and research programmes at the Aga Khan University.

Qualification rounds in various sports took place in the provinces of Badakhshan, Baghlan, Bamyan and Kabul, and an excited national Jamati team is now preparing to join their brothers and sisters in Nairobi, Kenya.
