His Excellency President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa visited the Aga Khan Academy in Maputo on 13 January, while in Mozambique for the inauguration of its new President. He was accompanied by Ms Teresa Ribeiro, Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Portuguese Government, and Ms Maria Amélia de Paiva, Portugal’s Ambassador to Mozambique.

Advances in science and technology bring increased opportunities and factors for consideration.

Advances in science, technology, and improved health care and nutrition are all contributing to increased longevity of life, along with advanced diagnosis and treatment of health conditions. A number of Ismailis in the USA are leading the way in these fields of endeavour.

In celebration of the Ismaili Volunteer Corps (IVC) 100th anniversary celebration this year, the USA Jamat reflects on the significance and history of the organization. Thousands of volunteers across the country have served as part of the USA IVC. Here, we highlight a number of individuals - with different paths to their journeys, these volunteers tell a tale of happiness and humility.

On 26 October 2019, the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Center in Houston hosted TEDxSugarLand for the fourth consecutive year. In keeping with the general theme of celebrations across the greater Houston area this year, marking the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing, the theme of TEDxSugarLand 2019 was One Small Idea, One Giant Leap for Mankind.
