In promoting the sanctity of human life, the Qur'an-e Shariff says that good health, like knowledge, is a divine gift. The family unit nurtures the lives of its members, assisting them in their physical and spiritual endeavours. The wellbeing of individuals, in-turn, contributes to the overall health of the family, and that of society at large.
Every year, there are multiple sessions of the Global Encounters and Global Encounters: Expedition programmes. The Global Encounters programme is held in June,July, and August in Kenya, India, and Pakistan. The Global Encounters: Expedition progamme is held in December and January in Kenya and India. Global Encounters is an international programme for Ismaili Muslim youth focused on service, leadership development, cultural exchange, and global citizenship. Since 2012, over 1,000 participants from 35 countries have made lifelong friendships with their peers from around the globe, contributed nearly 40,000 volunteer hours to local schools and communities, and transformed the way they think about the world.
