The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) presented Mawlana Hazar Imam with the 2013 Gold Medal – their highest honour – in a ceremony that took place at the Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa on 27 November 2013. The event received wide coverage, including a special edition issue of the Canadian Architect magazine.
