10 January 2016 — National Ismaili Councils worldwide announced today that the 2016 Jubilee Games will be held between 22 – 29 July in Dubai.

10 January 2016 — Dates for the 2016 Jubilee Games were announced in Jamatkhanas across the globe today.

According to National Ismaili Councils worldwide, the international Ismaili sporting event will take place between 22 – 29 July in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A majority of the sports will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, a facility that hosts world-class events, including major international sporting exhibitions and tournaments.

“The Jubilee Games, initiated during Mawlana Hazar Imam's Golden Jubilee, as a platform for developing, nurturing and deploying exceptional athletic talent, will now become a quadrennial signature event in the global Jamat's calendar,” says Dr Mahmoud Eboo, Chairman of the Ismaili Leaders’ International Forum. The Games showcase the best of Ismaili sporting talent. Using sports as a medium, the event also raises awareness of the importance of physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.

With athletes and coaches from 20 National Council jurisdictions covering over 28 countries, the Dubai Games will be a unique opportunity for Ismaili Muslims to celebrate and embrace the global Jamat’s diverse cultural, social and linguistic traditions, and are expected to attract a large number of international spectators.
