Later in the day, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and Mawlana Hazar Imam presided over the inauguration of Sunder Nursery, a 90-acre city park that is part of the Nizamuddin Urban Renewal Initiative.

The conservation of Sunder Nursery commenced following a 2007 Memorandum of Understanding with the Central Public Works Department, the Archaeological Survey of India, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, and the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC). Before serving as vice-president, it was Naidu who approved the project to develop the area in his capacity as Minister of Urban Development, which oversees the Central Public Works Department.
